Job Description:
DepartmentHealth InstituteThis position coordinates and monitors
up to 10 different grants and budgets for the Health Institute.
Additionally, the position conducts budget and financial analysis
and presents findings to Institute and the CHHS senior leadership
and financial oversight groups. This position requires knowledge of
MSU business operations; analytical techniques (e.g. budgetary,
financial, statistical, and research); budgetary methods and
management; administrative computing systems; some basic accounting
principles;
- Manage and monitor the grant and general fund budgets process.
- Weekly budget monitoring to ensure payroll and fund allocations
are accurate for grant reporting.
- Provide costing allocation corrections to payroll and accounts
payable to ensure grant budgets stay accurate
- Conduct budget review meetings with the program managers, CHHS
managers to review the current program budget and establish the
most accurate and realistic revenue and expense estimates for the
program based on trends and year to date activity.
- Acts as a liaison between program managers and administrative
departments (Accounting, Human Resources, Accounts Receivables,
etc.) to assure changes and updates are accurately completed.
- Review and comparison of actual results to projections should
be completed to gain insight on the accuracy of the projections and
to see where improvements can be made.
- Develop Health Institute budget dashboard to be able to track
current budget more easily.
- Provide insight into the development of a two-year Health
Institute budget.
- Conduct analysis, develop reports and respond to data requests
for the auxiliary funds, as needed to include calculating and
maintaining data on revenue and expense projection
- Document processes related to the auxiliary fund programs and
providing training to internal and external constituents as
needed.
- Identify opportunities to streamline budget processes to
improve efficiencies and data integrity.for facilitating a
well-balanced relationship with internal and external
constituents.This position does require enrollment in a PERA
Retirement Account.Salary for Announcement:$30.00 per hourRequired
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree.Previous Administrative experience with
planning, accounting, or budget development experience.
- Proficiency in computer modeling.
- Experience with Microsoft Office software suite, and relational
databases.Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in higher education,
- Familiar with MSU Denver's administrative systems.
- Experience with developing budget/financial dashboards
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Previous experience leading or managing projects with multiple
stakeholders.
- Previous experience identifying and executing opportunities for
process improvement.
- Previous experience with data analysis and report
