A rewarding opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse to provide care in a specialized Progressive Care Unit (PCU) located in Littleton, CO. This contract position offers the chance to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity cardiac unit renowned for excellence in cardiac care. Location: This role is based in a well-equipped medical center in Littleton, Colorado, known for its strong community and excellent quality of life. The facilitys PCU is located on the 10th floor and features state-of-the-art technology supporting advanced cardiac and stepdown care. Responsibilities: Deliver specialized nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit with a focus on cardiac and post-stepdown needs. Monitor complex patient cases, including managing drips and advanced cardiac monitoring equipment such as telemetry, pacers, and chest tubes. Perform clinical procedures including chest tube management, pacer wire removal, and 12-lead EKGs. Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to maintain a patient ratio of approximately 1:4, ensuring timely, high-quality care. Adhere to unit policies, safety protocols, and electronic medical record documentation via Meditech. Qualifications & Experience: Current RN license with stepdown or cardiac nursing experience. Required certifications: ACLS. Proficiency in managing drips (heparin, diltiazem, amiodarone, nitro, Lasix, ketamine). Experience working with telemetry monitoring, bipap, cpap, feeding pumps, and other cardiac support devices. Strong teamwork skills with high energy and adaptability to a fast-paced environment. Schedule: Night shift hours: 5 PM 5 AM.
