Job Description:
Swedish Medical Center, a proud member of HealthONE, is seeking
a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Extern to join our Oncology
department. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain
hands-on experience and mentorship in oncology nursing while
supporting the delivery of superior patient care. Our
state-of-the-art facilities and patient-centered approach ensure a
supportive environment for both staff and patients. As a Nurse
Extern in Oncology, you will assist in the implementation of
patient care under the supervision of our experienced nursing
staff, learn directly from our oncology specialists, and play a
crucial role in the daily operations of our oncology unit. Assist
nursing staff with the implementation of patient care plans Observe
and report changes in patient conditions and needs Support the
oncology team in daily operations and patient procedures Prepare
and maintain accurate patient records Participate in
multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes Learn and apply
hospital policies and procedures related to healthcare safety and
patient confidentiality Basic understanding of oncology nursing
principles Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to
follow oral and written instructions effectively Capability to
handle sensitive information confidentially Physical endurance and
dexterity to perform medical tasks Medical Insurance Dental
Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Basic Life Support
(BLS) Certification required upon hire or must be obtained within a
short period of orientation.
