Position Summary The Director, Business Development is responsible for the development, facilitation, and execution of growth and development strategies that retain current revenue and develop new incremental revenue for Joerns Healthcare across existing and new accounts. The associate is also responsible for ensuring efficiency of cross-functional operations, strategic planning and execution. In addition, they will also provide effective business solutions to customers through innovative and strategic planning, superior customer service and prospecting in various regions across all care settings.

Major Duties & Responsibilities Understand value proposition for the Joerns Healthcare

Understand customer and prospects business drivers, decision making processes and criteria in all care settings

Effectively communicate value proposition for Joerns portfolio of product & service solutions to key customers

Supports achievement of specific revenue goals from product & services commitments

Works to maintain and organically develop revenue and customer alignment in assigned existing accounts

Demonstrated ability to design and develop strategic business plans focused on understanding the customer’s business environment, discovering and prioritizing opportunities, documenting the alignment between team’s capabilities and customers needs, determining the critical-to-success relationships, and developing the strategic sales action plan

Utilizes plan and develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones

Leads solution development efforts with internal stakeholders that best address customer current and future needs, while coordinating the involvement of all necessary company personnel

Work with the field sales teams to create strategic team selling initiatives where applicable

Support all aspects of a business development relationship internally within marketing, financial, supply chain and service operations, sales enablement, etc.

Effective implementation of CRM and all related sales automation and reporting mechanisms

30% of time dedicated to developing current partnerships with assigned corporate account customers; 60% canvassing for new prospects with approximately 10% in administration

Executive level presenting of solutions to customers highlighting services and product enablers and prospects effectively to operational, clinical and executive customer stakeholders.

Coordinates the involvement of company personnel in order to meet account performance objectives and customers’ expectations

Ability to travel up to 50%

Required Education 4 year degree

Required Skills & Experience Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in Healthcare sales/services

Sales and customer support experience with strong understanding of the solutions selling process

Proficient in business management

Proficient in CRM software (MS Office, etc.) and mobile technology

Strong analytical skills to effectively track sales activity, develop sales plans, understand local market and competitive positioning

Ability to analyze, understand and execute a strategy to customer and prospect business and industry dynamics, internal sales trends and opportunity management

Preferred Skills, Experience & Education Experience in long-term post-acute care (LTPAC) market

Established relationships in LTPAC market

Demonstrated excellence in sales development and territory management calling on all levels of an organization

Highly effective and very strong team building, verbal and written communication, planning and organizational skills

Strong business acumen to manage sales cycles and close agreements that feature multiple services and product lines

Effective planning/organizational

Relationship building, networking skills

Must achieve standard certifications in wound care (WCEI) and safe patient handling (CSPHA)
