Our fine dining restaurants are equipped with two beautifully designed state-of-the-art kitchens where we offer a five-star dining experience to our residents.?This is a unique opportunity to put your management and hospitality skills to the test!?Our restaurants serve our independent living residents.? 

Schedule: Full time - Tuesday through Saturday - flexibility needed 


  • The Assistant Dining Room Manager is responsible for assisting the Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Front of the House in our formal restaurant settings 

  • The successful candidate serves as an ongoing resource, taking the lead in problem solving and providing guidance to the Dining Services team 

  • The Assistant Dining Room Manager also helps to coordinate various events as they relate to the dining room, bar, and banquet operations 

  • Assists with training of new employees 


  • One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience 

  • Previous experience working in a restaurant or hospitality setting 

  • Demonstrated managerial skills 

  • Previous experience with a POS (Point of Sale) system 

  • Warmth and patience when working with senior population 

  • Ability to provide coaching and mentoring to staff to achieve excellence 

  • Ability to collaborate with other departments and management to continuously improve quality and overall experience of our customers 

  • Ability to clearly communicate in verbal and written form 

  • Ability to communicate openly, honestly and responsibly with others 

  • Ability to maintain a customer focus treating all customers with respect and integrity? 

  • Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed 



  • Demonstrated experience working in the hospitality or restaurant industry preferred 




  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and squat for prolonged periods 

  • Ability to push/pull objects and lift/carry up to 20 pounds unassisted on a frequent basis (occasionally up to 50 pounds, unassisted) 

  • Willing to work beyond normal working hours, on weekends, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary 

Health & Wellness Protocols: Until further notice, interviews will take place virtually. Newly-hired associates will complete Balfour Senior Living's New Hire Orientation virtually, then receive important training about how to keep our residents, and themselves, as healthy as possible. This includes things like hand washing and social distancing. You will also follow wellness protocols developed under guidance of health agencies before entering any of our buildings.
