POSITION: Leasing and Move-In Specialist, Downtown Denver

As a Leasing and Move-In Specialist, you will be responsible for all the administrative and coordination related to new move-ins and internal transfers. As a non-exempt member of the team, you will work closely with our Leasing/Sales team, Executive Director, Associate Executive Director and Home Office Accounting Teams. This role ensures the process from reservation to move-in is seamless and that follow up administration and billing is accurate and timely.

What does a Leasing and Move-In Specialist do at Balfour Senior Living?

  • Works with new or transferring residents to complete the necessary move-in documents and preparations to ensure a smooth transition 
  • Processes resident move-in and move-out paperwork 
  • Responds to telephone inquiries in real time where possible and conduct walk-in and scheduled tours with prospective residents or interested parties 
  • Serves as an ongoing resource, responding to new resident’s questions and needs and assist them in becoming acclimated in their new home 
  • Coordinates move logistics with the operations team including apartment measurements, apartment readiness and work orders, and delivery of items to apartment in the client’s absence 
  • Arranges move details with the resident or resident’s responsible party for things like a moving company, etc. 
  • Performs basic record keeping and accounting functions in support of community administration and corporate accounting, such as nightly & weekly occupancy reports, Sherpa (Sales) and Yardi (Accounting) reconciliation, past/due collections questions, complex resident billing questions, monthly invoice printing and distribution to residents, Sherpa (sales database) data maintenance, leasing payment acceptance and deposits, billing/invoice questions, past-due bill and collections inquiries, and special event billing. 
  • Provides additional administrative support to Sales and Community Administration as needed. 


  • Proficient typing and computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office and aptitude for learning new platforms 
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills required 
  • Demonstrated talent for interacting with a wide variety of people, particularly the elderly, their family members and professional influencers 
  • Ability to communicate openly, honestly and responsibly with others  
  • Ability to maintain a customer focus treating others with respect and integrity 
  • Ability to accept responsibility for agreements made and follow through as appropriate  
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language 
  • Ability to adapt and work effectively as part of a team and independently 
  • Ability and willingness to flex schedule to meet resident needs is required. This includes the ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed 
  • Must possess a current driver's license 
  • Associates Degree or relevant experience and education preferred 
  • Experience managing multiple processes that require organizational skills (i.e. Office Manager) preferred
