- Review plans and specifications for scope and value.
Responsible to ensure that the plans and specs are complete.
Determine the scope of work needed to complete each project and
make recommendations as to appropriate subcontractors.
- Review bid packages to be sent out to prospective
subcontractors. Complete the scope sheets that are to be included
in the bid packages and monitor the progress of the bids to ensure
that all proposed bids come in on schedule.
- Examine site/existing conditions.
- Check all proposals for scope, quantity, correctness, and
completeness.
- Prepare complete and accurate quantity takeoffs, material, and
equipment pricing.
- Interview subcontractors and vendors for project scope and
capacity to ensure that they have the appropriate ability, manpower
and resources to complete projects within stated requirements.
- Review and level all bids across subcontractors to ensure that
pricing comparisons are accurate and that all potential missing
items are covered.
- Work closely with the project team to determine pricing and to
help produce the final proposal documents for the client
presentation.
- Assist Project Manager with preparation of estimate for
entering into job cost.
- Assist Project Manager in analysis of actual cost versus
estimated cost.
- Search out potential new subs, suppliers, methods, equipment,
etc., for competitive advantages.Profile
- The ideal candidate will be degree-qualified (Business,
Construction Management, Engineering)
- At least 1-2 years of experience as a Construction
Estimator
- Must be competent in working off of electronic documents and
using Onscreen Takeoff
- Additionally, you will have conceptual estimating ability. Must
have a stable work history.
- You must be "Team-Focused" and have a strong client
orientation. Strong communication skills are a must.
- Experience in K-12, healthcare, higher education, retail,
restaurant, office, or hospitality projects would be ideal.
However, other experience will be considered.Job Offer
