Job Description Job Description Salary: $16 Pediatric Holistic Wellness currently has 1 position in Pueblo for a temporary (back up), on call ~ respite provider, with the opportunity for advancement and a permanent position within our company. What is Caregiving? In Colorado alone, there are an estimated 584,000 caregivers (AARP). A caregiver is someone who provides care and support for any person of any age with any extensive care needs. What is Respite? Respite is a short break for caregivers. Respite is the opportunity for a caregiver to step away, knowing that their loved one is well cared for, by bringing in professional care. Who we are looking for: The ideal candidate comes with some experience, is reliable and dependable, able to transfer a 65lb child from chair to toilet, has reliable transportation, manages time well, can work independently, and is an effective communicator. To be effective as a respite provider in this position, you will need to have excellent interpersonal skills and a genuine compassionate, positive attitude all while demonstrating exceptional patience keeping an upbeat personality. In summary: The respite worker will agree to provide services assisting our Client while providing the parent/guardian with a short break. This may involve helping the individual participate in activities in and out of the home including recreation and leisure activities, facilitating the development of new skills, and managing their personal care needs and activities. It is expected that the respite worker will assist the individual in a positive manner that keeps the Client safe. There may be other duties/activities that are required from time to time, this will be discussed upon hire and with the family you will provide services to. At no time will the respite worker leave the person being supported alone. If you believe that you would excel in this position, wed love to talk with you more!
